PARENT INVOLVEMENT

To ensure the safety of our students, all parents must have a BCI check to participate in the Parent Teacher Organization. Parents volunteer on conference days and help to organize bake sales and fundraisers!

PARENT RESOURCE ( Tips for Helping Your Child with Their Homework)

1. Allow your child to do their own homework,guide and/or assist them only when necessary. Please do not do your child's homework for them. Homework is a tool used to extend lessons that are taught in class.
2. Provide a quiet place for your child to do their homework. Young children have a short attention span and are easily distracted. A quiet place will limit distractions
3. Be available to assist your child with their homework. Your child may need additional help with concepts that were taught in class. Please be available to answer any questions your child may have.
4. Feel free to ask the teacher for suggestions on how to help your child with a particular concept. We understand that these lessons were taught to you as a young child. We will be happy to share any teaching stratagies that may assist you with teaching your child at home.
5. Don't hesitate to commend your child for their efforts. You will be amazed at what a high-five can do for a child's self esteem. Let your child know that you are proud of him/her.
